Leonardo: Experience a Masterpiece

I composed the music for Leonardo: Experience a Masterpiece, the National Gallery’s landmark immersive exhibition revealing the hidden layers of Leonardo’s masterpiece, The Virgin of the Rocks. Written for viol consort, the score unfolds through shifting layers that mirror Leonardo’s process — lines emerging, overlapping, and receding, as if thinking aloud in sound. The result is a fluid, inquisitive texture that invites close listening and a sense of discovery as the mysteries of Leonardo’s work are revealed.
