Sol Bound I
Sol Bound I is an immersive audiovisual work with artist Reuko for FRAMELESS London, inviting audiences into expansive natural landscapes that explore our relationship with the elemental world. My score moves through these environments — layering synths, strings, voices, and environmental sound to create a living sonic horizon that deepens that sense of connection.
The project emerges from a growing sense of disconnection: as our contact with nature diminishes, so too does our capacity for attention, grounding, and presence.
This work responds by creating a space to slow down — to re-attune to landscape, energy, and perception.
Reuko’s visuals unfold as a nomadic journey through forests, coastlines, rivers, and expansive terrains. Filmed in remote and often inhospitable environments, these landscapes are layered with luminous particle simulations — revealing a hidden world of motion and energy that moves through ecosystems, weather systems, and geological forms.
The result is something that feels both elemental and otherworldly — as if the landscape itself is breathing, shifting, becoming.
My score was developed as a continuous, evolving field — a kind of sonic horizon that inhales and exhales with the landscape.
Synths, strings, piano, and wordless voices are interwoven with subtle traces of the natural environment: water, wind, resonance, distant textures that feel both real and imagined. The music begins in a near-still state, gradually accumulating energy, before opening into a more expansive, radiant space.
Rather than illustrating the visuals, the sound works alongside them — shaping how time is felt within the installation.
Textures emerge, dissolve, and return. The music moves between intimacy and scale — from something almost internal to something vast and universal.
